Dear fellow traders :
"The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way. Those who do things in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich. Those who do not do things in this certain way, no matter how hard they work or how able they are, remain poor.
It is a natural law that like causes always produce like effects. Therefore, any man or woman who learns to do things in this certain way will infallibly get rich."

Posting of S&P500 Index Futures Trades
Dear fellow traders :
I would be posting my ES trades in my other blog at :
http://e-mini-index-futures.blogspot.com
I would start posting options trades here once I can overcome the posting editor problem with Blogger.com
The posting editor doesn't display properly nowadays & I couldn't post images & links at all.

ES Trading - 3 Aug & 4 Aug 2009
Dear fellow traders :
It's been a while since I post my simulated trades on ES (S&P 500 e-mini) trading.
3 Aug 2009 - Loss = $200.00
4 Aug 2009 - Loss = $200.00
You'll notice both the trades above were losing trades.
I have to admit I'm not too good with reading price action when the ES whip-sawed every other few minutes. There were occasions when a trade yield a 2-3 ticks profit but it quickly turned into losses when the intended direction lost steam after 1 to 2 consolidated candles (eg. inside bars).
Still learning in this trading process by looking at price action & keeping my stop-loss tight at max. 2 points per trade. Would also stick to trading the ES between 9.30am EST to 11.00am EST and would not hold an ES trade till announcement of significant economic reports.
Yours Truly,
Tony Chai

ES Trading - 6 Jul to 9 Jul 2009
Dear fellow traders :
Simulated trades from looking at price action & patterns. Focused on market time between 9.30am to 11.00am EST. Taken note of whether there were major economic news reported.

7 Jul 09 (Tue) - Loss = -$200.00
Note : not trading well when I encountered whip-saw price action.
9 Jul 09 (Thur) - Loss = -$50.00
Yours truly,
Tony Chai

Economic Calendar
Dear fellow traders :
For those familiar with the trading of the e-mini US index futures, or even forex, you'll realize that price movement usually fluctuates a lot after the announcement of certain major US economic reports like employment data, housing data, gross domestic product (GDP), inflation data etc.
Thus, it's crucial that you keep track of when such economic reports would come out so. This would enable you to be cautious whether to get out of a position before their announcement. But I understand you could also be someone who's skilled in taking advantage of such major economic announcements to time your trade.
Most of these major US economic reports would be announced either on 8.30am EST or 10.00am EST. I would usually go to Google.com and type in 'economic calendar' and I would visit any of the finance-related web-sites for this information.
So, do be alert of the announcement of major US economic reports so that you won't get caught off-guard of an adverse price reaction to your existing position after such announcements.
Yours truly,
Tony Chai

ES Trading 11 June 09
Dear fellow traders :
In this S&P 500 e-mini trading session, my entries were based on studying pure price action. These few days I've been studying all the ES price movement that I've managed to screen captured in the past of between 8.30am EST and 12.00pm EST.
Though I entered on high probable trades, I kept my stop loss tight at max. 2 to 3 points. For that, I have to thank Ed for telling me that if I had my risks factored in before a trade, I would be able to enter a trade with less fear. That really calmed me so that my mind is focused on looking for high probability trades.

Tony Chai

ES Trading - 29 May 09
Dear fellow traders :
Studied the S&P 500 10 min. chart & determined it could be a choppy session when market opened.
Since the session might be choppy, I kept my stop loss tight at 2 points. Only entered trades with higher probability in going my direction. Since I couldn't catch the price action at its beginning, I tried to catch a ride when price action was still strong and scalped a few ticks before the price action changed.

ES Trading - 28 Apr 09
Dear fellow traders :
Shorted the ES based on the S&P500 10 min. stochastic trending down gradually. But I was stubborn not to close the trade when the S&P500 10 min. stochastic started trending up. Stopped out at 12 points loss.
I really need to train up my discipline not to enter any trade when the S&P500 10 min. stochastic signal was not clear. And I have to admit I wasn't focused. I was monitoring my options position and wasn't looking at the big green candles forming in the ES when I was SHORTING it. I could have reverse my trade or I could have stop out my trade. But nevertheless it was a great lesson not to multitask too much when I'm trading.

Tony Chai

ES Trading - 23 Apr 2009
Dear fellow traders :
Another day where I have to recover earlier losses. Entered a long initially when I saw the S&P500 10 min. stochastic slowly trending up. But the ES red candles formed long & furious and from my experiences it's likely to go down deeper, since the pivot point support was also broken. Reversed the trade and recovered the earlier losses as ES plunged deeper.
I entered another trade later to short the ES since I felt the ES might plunge through the pivot point support again since it had done the "strength" to do it earlier. But I closed the trade a little too soon with a -1.50 points loss when I saw the ES holding on the pivot point support. I also felt uncomfortable shorting the ES when the S&P500 10 min. stochastic was trending upwards.
As you can see, the pivot point support was truly broken again, and I was already out of the position, urghh.

Tony Chai

ES Trading - 16 Apr 2009
Dear fellow traders :
Just recovered from a bad flu. I could hardly stand up straight for more than 5 mins. during the worst days of my flu. Now that I've recovered, I'm back to practice my ES trading.
Shorted the ES when the S&P500 10 min. stochastic was trending downwards. The position whip-sawed a while but once I saw ES touched the base of a probable double bottom & that I already had the 2.50 points profit ($125) in hand, I closed the ES trade.

Tony Chai
